I was fortunate enough to find a great Spanish class to take this week. Español Andando, http://www.espanol-andando.com.ar, was the name and was a great concept. The instructor, Paula, 26, a native of Buenos Aires, decided that tourists needed a way to learn some Spanish for travelers without sitting in a classroom staring at a whiteboard. Everyday we met at a different restaurant, café or bar, and spent half of the lesson learning some new vocabulary or grammar, and the other half was walking through the neighborhood and practicing our Spanish by working on some exercises in the local supermercados, zapaterias, farmacias or librerias. A great concept, class and bargain! Interestingly, a fellow classmate, Will Hide, 38, from the London Times was on a travel vacation and will hopefully be publishing a piece on this course in the Times (with photos!). You might see it at willhide.com soon!
