A storm blew over the Baltic Sea as we sailed from Gdynia to Karlskrona. I was hoping to get a good few hours to see some of Karlskrona, but ended up in the Maritime Museum, and then a bar for the afternoon as the winds blew the snow completely horizontal all afternoon. With the windchill it must have been 10 below.
I was supposed to have a direct train at 2:30 to Stockholm, but ended up in a bus to Alvesta, waiting there another two hours for a different train to Stockholm. Apparently the high winds had been blowing trees left and right over all the tracks in Sweden. Any of the trains that were still running were surely late.
It was interesting to see a country laiden in snow for almost half the year coming to a halt so easily.
