I found the Chinese Embassy in Stockholm and thought I'd make an appearance and try my luck getting a visa. It's pretty easy here: You can show up with $100, wait about 40 minutes and walk away with a
visa. The Swedes have an agreement with China that makes visa payment optional. A sign on the wall attempts to encourage them to pay for their visa, but it seemed that few do, and those that do get a
little faster service. My perception, at least.
I met up with my friend Patrick, whom I met in Lviv, Ukraine, a few weeks earlier, and he showed me a few of the sites around the center and we went out for reindeer stew later and drinks with some of his friends discussing variants of visas and chops of reindeer meat.
