Our first stop was north of the equator at Genovesa, home to a number of bird species. As you first step foot on the island, you think you're in Jurassic Park of Birds. Somebody had to have set this up. But really, all of the birds could care less about you and the just carry on with their business of mating, nesting, quarreling, sleeping, feeding the young, all while the crew of us snapped away at our cameras and stared in awe.
The amazing male friggates seen here on Genovesa have an inflatable pouch they use to attract females, along with a song and dance.
