About 100 km north of Puerto Natales in Chilean Patagonia lie some huge granite massifs called Torres del Paine. I spent a week trekking through the park, watching glaciers, hiking up to the miradors, and meeting trekkers from all over the world.
The weather in Patagonia can be a bastard. In the seven days I was there, we had six days of rain. My last night there, at the Base Torres camp, the closest to the towers, it snowed. Needless to say, I missed the sunrise over the towers.
