What a city! Words can't fully express both the serendipity and chaos that composes this city. First impressions? My mouth was instantly salivating when, in the taxi from the airport to my hostel, I witnessed half a cow being unloaded from the back of a refrigerated truck on a lonely sidestreet to the back entrance of a restaurant.
The cab driver laughed at me when I bluntly said "Holy Shit!" when a gaucho hopped off the back of the truck with was was basically half a cow slung over his back and shoulders: Front right hoof (intact), right leg, shoulder, full rack of ribs, hip, leg, and rear hoof. All skinned and ready to throw on the grill for some asada. Wish I had my camera ready for that shot…
